D. Pittman Dickey graduated from undergraduate school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1972 and from law school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1974. He began his legal career in Pittsboro, N.C. He moved to Fayetteville where he has practiced with our firm since 1978.

Pitt Dickey has handled hundreds of Social Security Disability (SSD) cases for over 35 years in southeastern North Carolina appearing before Administrative Law Judges from hearing offices throughout North and South Carolina. He regularly attends state and national conventions to keep his knowledge of SSD laws current. Disability claims are decided in a very complex system of regulations and time frames and are frustrating for the claimants who must deal with the delays and technical rules. This area of law touches the lives of people who really need help. Pitt Dickey is the right attorney to guide you through the SSD maze.

Pitt Dickey has written a monthly column concerning various aspects of Social Security Disability law since 1998. These columns appeared in 50 Plus Magazine, Prime Life Magazine, Fayetteville Press and on line at www.seniormag.com. Excerpts are available in our Publications section.
